David Niose Presents: Nonbeliever Nation

Author and activist, David Niose, is the featured speaker at the Nonbeliever Nation Workshop:  The Rise of Secularism in Minnesota. Currently Niose is president of the Washington DC based Secular Coalition for America, and formerly, president of the American Humanist Association. The workshop is sponsored by the First Unitarian Society Bookstore in celebration of its 10th anniversary.

Join fellow humanists, atheists, skeptics and freethinkers to listen to and engage with David Niose, a staunch advocate for church/state separation and the rights of nontheists.  The secular community here in Minnesota, like other states, is represented by a number of distinct freethought organizations. Through Niose's presentation and ensuing discussions, we can take stock of the role each group plays in fostering a secular society and consider what we might do collaboratively toward that end.

There is a morning session and an afternoon session. Lunch will be provided for $10 (pizza, vegies, beverage, dessert). If you can't come to the entire workshop, attend one session as you are able. Here's the schedule for day.
