Well first this was a Freethought meeting, not a humanist meeting. I say this because I really was disappointed by some of what I heard. I clearly heard one person bashing people for their religious beliefs. This person was an active member for quite some time. I don't want to associate with people who have an intolerance for others' beliefs; that is not what I'm about. There was something else similar that I thought I heard from another, however, I can't be sure because they were a little difficult to understand. I'm very new to the group, and I don't know the official stance that humanists take on acceptance of religious differences. I'm leaving out details out of respect for the individuals involved. I'm only sharing this out of concern. I don't want to pick on anyone. I would appreciate some feedback if anyone has anything.

Turned out to be a great day for a picnic despite the early warning of rain. We had a good turnout with many new people from both HofM and MA. The Freethought Ramblers entertained and Bocci ball crowd did their thing!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
