HFCF at the Azalea Festival Street Fair

This year we are again exhibiting a booth in the Street Fair of the Wilmington Azalea Festival.

Please come along and support our cause!

The Street Fair lasts from 8-9AM - 6PM on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April.

If you can offer assistance on either Saturday or Sunday to help run the booth, greet the public and help promote Humanism please contact Ron Cochran through this group or e-mail:

[masked].

This is our chance to show the Wilmington public who we are and what we stand for!

Thank you all so much for inviting us to help, and most importantly for making us feel so welcome. From the "finger lady" to the Azalea management/police shake down, it was a truly educational and entertaining experience. Much love from CNCAH! Let's do it again soon.

Met many people. Some were happy to find our group, others wanted to debate our stand. It stimulated interesting dialogue. Getting people to think is always good.

We are having a great time! Lots of positivity, and one 'finger lady'. It's been a blast.

Great experience working the tent today, and it was wonderful to meet some folks from Fayetteville. Thanks to everyone.

It was nice to meet some of the other members as well as some members from the Fayetetville group. There seemed to be alot of people actually interested in the short time I was there and not just the nasty 'good' people. I even picked up some new bling for the car!

Suzanna suggests that everyone working at our Booth bring water and snacks (unless you want Carnival Food), sunglasses, and maybe a chair (there will be a few). Remember the forecast is for 80's over the weekend.

Ron, I am available Saturday morning or anytime on Sunday -- please let me know which you'd prefer ([masked]). I may also be able to bring 1 annoying teenager. For those coming to do initial setup on either day, the Library Garage always has spots before the main opening.

Parking Notes (cont.) - Please plan to be there least 30 min. before the start of your time slot. One possible parking option is the Library Garage at 2nd St. and Grace. It is only a couple of blocks from our Tent. I typically park someplace on 4th St. On street parking will be free during festival. Another good option for Saturday morning is the shuttle that will run from Independence Mall ?http://www.ncazaleafestival.org/Events/Parade/tabid/79/Default.aspx .

Parking Notes: In general parking for the HFCF Tent is not straightforward - or so I have been told by experienced HFCF members. The tent will be located on Front St. at about Princess - it is #303.

The most difficult times to park will be during the Parade, which runs from 9:00 to about 12:30 Saturday morning, April 9.

Ron..since this is my first Azalea Festival, I don't know anything about where to park. Will you be sending out that information? Celia

Great! I was surprised they have booths on Front & not Water Street. Very good to be near Princess.

    Hi Susan,

Yes, we actually just got our Official Azalea Fest booth position a few days ago. The HFCF Tent will be on Front St. at about Princess, as the cross street.

Several of you have contacted me about working at our HFCF Azalea Fest Tent. Thank you in advance for your efforts to let our Community know about HFCF and what we do. Can I ask for all of you to please make sure I have your email address and phone number(s) ([masked])? I am trying to set up a tent schedule of who's working when.

    Thanks,

    Ron
