WASH MDC meeting “Who Are Those Doubters Anyway? The Demography of Unbelief

This is our regular and fairly informal monthly meeting

“Who Are Those Doubters Anyway? The Demography of Unbelief”?

In “Who Are Those Doubters Anyway?  Tom Flynn discussed The Demography of Unbelief”? He  covers the whole history of how pollsters and the media count – and miscount – the nonreligious, including the Rise of the Nones and the vast gulf between the number of self-reported “nones” – and even the number of self-reported atheists/agnostics – and the much smaller numbers active in the humanist movement.

As with all of Tom's talk’s a fact-filled and provocative. Flynn is Executive Director of the Council for Secular Humanism, Editor of Free Inquiry magazine, & Director of the Robert Green Ingersoll Birthplace Museum. He co-founded and was for 13 years co-editor of the newsletter Secular Humanist Bulletin.

The talk will be followed by a snack break where people can socialize and  merge into a Q &A with the speaker.

Handouts about WASH and other secular, scientific and humanist topics will be available.

All are welcome.
