Topic: This has been a turbulent year for humanist groups, with rapid growth seen among the many local groups with which WASH shares the region, and the unfortunate fiscal troubles experienced by CFI, leading to the closure of their meeting space in downtown DC. Additionally, our own chapter is in crisis, because our longtime meeting space at the Chevy Chase Library will not be available in 2011. What's next for the year ahead? That's up to all of us—come to our annual MDC Chapter Members' Meeting to discuss how each of us can contribute to make the year ahead the best one yet!

Jenny KalmansonThis was a very productive meeting! A committee was established to find a new meeting place. A very productive discussion was held using the Socrates Cafe method about what MDC as a Chapter wants to be, and how we should get there. Additional suggestions were collected at the MDC Chapter meeting for elevation to AHA Board consideration. I can't promise that any of these suggestions will be accepted, but I will raise them.
