Secular film at WASH MDC April 19th meeting

The WASH MDC April 19th meeting will take place in the Rockville Library ‘second floor conference room.

The topic will be “Portraying Religious Influence in Film: Lessons from Erik Kristopher Myers’ film Roulette” Baltimore’s independent film maker, theorist and screen writer, Erik Kristopher Myers will discuss and show scenes from his recently released, first feature film, ROULETTE. ROULETTE opened to strong sales and positive critical reviews, but the film's negative portrayal of Christianity and its examination of Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice led to outraged response from viewers, film festivals, and potential distributors alike.

Come hear Myers discuss the film and his attempt to dramatize a balanced examination of the cause and effect of a religious upbringing, along with the personal consequences of his endeavor in the face of an industry that shies away from “perceived” anti-Christian commentary.
