Bristow, VAUSA 20136
January 1, 2012
My husband, Rich, and I are fairly new to NoVA. We helped with Camp Quest last year, and are looking forward to this coming camp season, too. We are looking to make friends with others, preferably in the Manassas/Centreville/Bristow areas.
We have met several of you at other events, and thought we had already joined this meetup group. I realized tonight that I hadn't. Oops.
I think we are fabulous. <grin>
Thanks, Bonnie, great to meet you as well, thank you for organizing!
Bonnie, I'm really sorry you and your family didn't stay (or couldn't) at the Cosmos film viewing tonight. I understand there wasn't much pizza left (?) and I'm really sorry. This was a larger group with everyone showing up, which has never happened before... and a snowy night. I suppose people ate more thinking you all weren't coming. All of us there missed out on your company, and I for one am sorry. I hope you'll come again next time, and we'll be sure to have more food!
Wecome Bonnie! We may be able to build a family based interest group from our membership. We many more contacts from the Reason Rally and our Washington Area Secular Humanist meetup. My plan is to poll our members (and contacts) to find these commonalities of interest.
You and your family are invited to a potluck this Saturday, Janurary 26, starting at 6:00 at my house. There will be child care. There will also be a few members of NoVES committees to answer any questions you may have and tell what they do for the Society. This is not a vehicle to get you to join but simply a way to get to know people and have some of your questions answered in an informal and relaxed setting. Would you e-mail me [masked] to get my address?
Bonnie, thanks for reaching out. I've heard about the BK in Centerville -- perhaps we could meet on a Sunday in mid-Feb. Anxious to learn about other secular gatherings in the NoVA area, perhaps you could advise.
Thanks so much for the greeting. I'm happy that the group is active once again. I will certainly make an effort to get out and meet everyone!
Thank you for the greeting. I look forward to meeting you all.
Welcome to the group! You should join us for our Happy Hours in Bethesda and/or DuPont Circle; it's a great time, and you'll meet other people with shared interests.
Welcome to NoVA and to the group!
