Sunday Secular Sojourns (Hikes & Other Adventures)

At its core Humanism balances the head and the heart. It is more than just denying gods–it is about embracing life and celebrating the human experience. One of many fantastic ways of doing that is to take a break from our busy urban routines, and enjoy a relaxing, yet exciting, sojourn through the wild. San Diego County presents an abundance of natural treasures to revere and enjoy. Every Sunday morning at 11 join the Humanist Association as we explore the gifts that San Diego has to offer.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes, bring sunscreen, a good attitude, water, and snacks, if desired. The trails will be of changing difficulty and accessibility (some may be for more experienced hikers, but we will try to vary the challenge of each week's trail).

Something a little different this Sunday - sailing with Jim Bruton on hos 19-foot Potter. Limit five adults. BYOB and snacks. We will tool around Mission Bay and enjoy the sea and sky. Please RSVP only if you're sure you're coming. Thanks!

We hope to see you there. Come explore with us!

That was so much fun! I'm glad we had a full boat with five of us for a quick sail around Mission Bay, a brief taste of the open ocean (sorry, Basel), and a "plan B" pulled out of my butt when the motor died at the dock. Thanks, guys, for helping get Bonnie on her trailer!

The boat's name is "Bonnie Blue," and she'll be rigged and ready at the dock at Dana Landing (next to the boat ramp and small store) at 11 am. Bring sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and sufficient hydration. It'll be a blast! See you there.

As we discussed, I'm down for sailing on Mission Bay. Only five adults can fit comfortably on my boat.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
