The proportion of Americans not claiming a religious affiliation grew beyond expectation in the last decade. Though the New Atheist movement should receive some credit for encouraging non-religious Americans to "come out," and for emphasizing the impact that religions can have on society, many of the ideas of that movement were borrowed from Freethinkers and Humanists who lived long ago.
Every first Tuesday, join us as we examine a foundational work of Freethought and Humanism, its author, its historical context, and what it means today.
This month we will discuss (insert author, italicized title, and an optional short description of the work).
We hope to see you there!
