Third Sunday Lecture Series: Reasons for a Secular Government

Tonight we are having dinner rather than a huge lecture. It will be good, dinner topic is secular government.

Every March in honor of México's secular-lion Benito Juárez, we discuss the reasons for a secular government.

This event, we will be chatting about the foundations for a secular government.

When we think about secular government, we often assume certain socio-political conditions: gender-egalitarianism, an appreciation for the arts and culture, and protections of speech & expression.

Certain states have diminished efficacy in the social power of religion. These happen in states that are both aggressively secular & anti-religious and those with such a high-quality of life that the state church is like an American-gym membership--you pay your dues but just don't show up.

Come learn about secular government and discuss the reasons for it.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
