Creation Museum now with Dragons and Donuts and the Banana guy and Pizza

Join humanists and other freethinkers Saturday Sept 29 at for Museum day at the Creation Museum. Speakers scheduled are creationists Ray Comfort and Derek Isaacs.

Schedule Sept 29

Derek Isaacs 10 am, 1 pm, 4pm

Ray Comfort 11 am, 2:30 pm, 5pm

3:30 Ray Comfort engages the Humanists, Atheists, Skeptics, and Freethinkers in a dedicated discussion and question and answer period. Mr. Comfort has generously offered to buy us Pizza for the occasion.

We expect speakers will have the podium for about an hour followed by questions and answers.

We also encourage members to familiarize themselves with the nonsensical assertions put forth by creationists and challenge them in a courteous manner during a question and answer period if they wish to do so.

Here's who the speakers are:

Derek Isaacs noticed similarities between Dragons and Dinosaurs and used that as the basis for his books

"The Extinction of Evolution", he also started Watchman 33 and Dragons or Dinosaurs, and a film of the same title.

I gave this three stars because it was disturbing in some ways.
    Ray comfort is a denialist.

Fyi: this is my first attempt at joining with any humanists. I was raised Mormon. I am in proccess of leaving church. (it has been driving me nuts for 10 years, finally couldn't stand it anymore). I consider my actual world view to be free thinker/ secular humanist. Mormonism is so insular, leaving comes at great social cost. I am passionate about social justice and using science to solve problems. If any of you have any suggestions for 'secular' fellowship, let me know.

I will be posting photos and video links on SungodPhoto.Wordpress.com, if something from these events has a password it is likely "atheist" (sometimes I get complaints and have to control viewing on my photoblog, and the passwords might be added later/not at all)

I had to go to work, and my phone died right after I posted in dragon talk, so I missed seeing descriptions of where you were at. Bummer!

Damn, wished I hadn't lost you between speakers. It's not as fun rolling my eyes to myself.

He likes to use the evidence that disproves his own arguments as if they defend his points, possibly in an attempt to help believers who will see these arguments later so they can just dismiss them...

I checked in but I'm not sure it successfully posted. I'm on the (audience) left side of the center aisle inside the tent. About 2/3 back from the stage. Black T-shirt w/ blue-green printed , tan shorts & have a lathe, black shoulder bag. (Oh, & this guy is crazy)

Problem is that the staff have green shirts, so you might need to be more specific, lol

I couldn't tell if they were poorly covering their disgust at atheist being there or just extremely socially awkward in general

    September 29, 2012

  • Ryan A.

As a side note... I've already had 3+ encounters with people in yellow shirts because of my camera and red 'A'. The app keeps posting before I'm ready to post. Lol. My cell is[masked]

Does anyone want to meet before and carpool? I have had issues parking my car in that area due to vandalism for having Darwin fish on my car. My cell is[masked]
