Hi! My name's Chris. I'm 26, and I lived in St. Louis, MO, until I joined the Navy over 3 years ago. I reported to the USS Carl Vinson, which is stationed at Coronado, in May 2012. This is a fantastic group, and I'm proud to be one of its leaders!
Secular Humanist, Atheist

That's in the works...
Consciously? About six years (i.e. the time that has passed since I lost my religious faith). However, I've been a compassionate, empathetic person my whole life.
Exciting, lively, and edgy! We have a different group and experience at every C&C.
Hi Christopher. In re to Amanda's post, I too am curious about any efforts to sensitize the military toward the Humanist's way of thinking. It seems the military in particular are the most influential advocates of Christianity, hence haters, or at least alienating, in general, of anyone who is not a Christian.
Hello. Are you still at the Coronado base? I ask because my boyfriend, who's an atheist and very committed to social justice--on whose behalf I probably shouldn't be speaking but am nonetheless--is stationed there and hasn't met many like-minded people (to understate the matter dramatically), is stationed at the naval amphibious base there. He's told me most of his comrades are Christians (as well as chauvinists, bullies, and racists). Are there any secular humanist meetings on base?
