There are a number of Humanist groups in San Diego, including two MeetUps.
They include groups with special interests - gay, atheistic, religious, Jewish, Unitarian, etc. etc. The Humanist Fellowship of San Diego welcomes people with all those particular interests, but maintains a clear identity of its own. It is an educational organization, not an advocacy organization. It offers events for the purpose of your growth in understanding, not for promoting issues of social or political action. Those issues are pursued in other affiliations and we welcome cooperation. Our purpose is educational.
We study Humanist ethics: right and wrong known not by alleged revelation but by the experience of human beings in human societies, able to observe outcomes of human choices and to examine them in the light of reason, with human well-being as the measure of the good.
The HUMANIST FELLOWSHIP MEETUP is owned by the Humanist Fellowship of San Diego. The HUMANIST FELLOWSHIP MEETUP is distinct from this HUMANISM MEETUP, which is owned by Bill Campbell.
The Humanist Fellowship of San Diego is a nonprofit educational organization, a chapter of the American Humanist Association of Washington DC. It stands for Humanism as set out in "Humanism and Its Aspirations: Humanist Manifesto 3", which you can read at www.HFSD.info
You are invited to join both this Humanism MeetUp and the Humanist Fellowship MeetUp. Events scheduled by the Humanist Fellowship in March are on Sunday 16th at 2 p.m. and Saturday 22nd at noon. All meetings are free and always downtown. Call Susi any morning at[masked] to learn more.
