This Week

Hey everyone, we had a fantastic discussion Saturday evening with some fantastic people. Same thing is coming this Saturday (topics will be revealed as the week's news unfolds).

The Atheist Coalition has asked us to promote their monthly event, which has been moved up this month to accommodate the schedule of a world-renoun saxophonist Gilad Atzmon (who happens to have controversial views on Israel). I don't know if he will bring up world affairs, but the regardless of geo-politics, the music should be great.

Also this weekend, we have our third sunday lecture and discussion. Sunday at 6pm at Joyce Beers we are talking about Humanism and the Meaning(s) of Life. This is such an interesting topic that we will surely provoke deep, enlightening, and enriching thought.

We now have reached our goal of 200 care-packages for the Homeless. We have raised a dedicated $75 to this project and the cost came out to $200. If you would like to help us reimburse the person who purchased the items, or to an additional fund to do more outreach. Please contact us. A date for distribution will be made available soon.

Lastly Debbie Allen of the SD Coalition of Reason is asking people to participate in a fundraiser for the local chapter of Americans United for the Separation of Church & State. California Pizza Kitchen will give 20 percent of proceeds to Americans United for pizza purchased on Sunday the 19th (all day)-but you have to specify. For more information go to:

And the location of the Sunday morning hike will be posted by Thursday. Four of us hiked seven miles from the dam, up the summit of South Fortuna, around the back, and looped back down the valley road. These are great events. We get some exercise, push ourselves, build friendships, and experience the pure treasure that is our local wilderness.

have a great week

-Jason
