Hi Jason,

Thank you for sharing with us this information.

Although I will be at Pride tomorrow, I will be unable to participate in the parade.  Please give Jay my best, especially as you go by his hospital window.

Peace,

Paul

Subject: [humanism-184] This Weekend and Special Favor

Hello HASD,

I have a special favor to ask everyone.
Usually you know that I send you news articles, Items, and event info.

Right now I am swamped and need your help. After all of the hard work that I do to keep things running in the Humanist Community, sometimes I become overloaded.

At this moment I need everyone to come together this weekend for Jay Murley. Jay is in the Hospital really sick; and he usually coordinates our Pride Contingent. This is the first time in the 13 years that we have been marching in Pride that Jay won't be able to march with us. The nurse did agree however to let him watch from the 12th floor balcony at Scripps Mercy. Please, if you are not doing anything, or could conceivably get out of doing something on Saturday morning, march with us from Normal and Lincoln (show up by 10 am) to Balboa Park. It would boost his spirits if he saw all of us marching together as a huge group. We also do not have a theme for out entry, we have a flatbed. If you guys have any ideas that can be put together simply and easily, please contact me tomorrow to help us get this together. Secondly, we have several festival tickets for volunteers at our booth. If you would like to volunteer, please tell me by Saturday morning.

Also we are having a post pride party Saturday night at 9 pm at[masked]th Street. We are doing a lot of work to set up the space, including some light remodeling. There is going to be food. Usually we get a lot of people if I call and pester everyone. Please come for this. Our last event was severely harmed by the last minute venue change due to the JD Richardson company breeching their contract with us unexpectedly.

And Sunday Night at Joyce Beers Linda Patterson is speaking on her new book: Hate Thy Neighbor, how the bible is misused to condemn homosexuality.

and Coffee and Conversation is not meeting at libertalia this tuesday, we are heading up to La Jolla to hear Freeman Dyson speak up at UCSD.

Thanks for understanding

-Jason
