Come Help Us Build!
The family program is looking for new families to expand our circle, and work with us to develop a curriculum that helps our children learn how to live in this complicated and exciting world.
Who We Are
We are a small collection of local families who meets every Sunday morning to talk, play, experiment, and learn from each other. As humanists, we teach our children to appreciate the wonders of the natural world, and to develop an ethical code based on treating our fellow human beings with kindness and respect.
What We Do
Each week, one member of our group volunteers to lead a discussion on the topic of our choice. We read stories, have debates, do experiments, and learn about the world. Sometimes we create art, sometimes we explore the outdoors, sometimes we just play.
Who We’re Looking For
We are reaching out to other families in the area who might like to join our circle. Currently, the children’s ages range from 5 to 11, but we hope to expand our program to include all ages. You don’t have to meet any particular humanist criteria to be welcome, as long as you are interested in exploring the big issues such as ethics and knowledge from an evidence-based perspective. Children with behavioral or developmental issues are welcome.
What We Require
We are not free babysitting. We need at least one parent or guardian to remain with the family program at all times.
