Join other humanists, atheists, agnostics, and friends as we march in honor Dr. King and the contributions of African American Humanists at the annual Martin Luther King parade.
Meet us from 10-11 a.m. to set up and march from the corner of W Grape and 1901 N Harbor Drive in downtown San Diego (92101). Please make a sign or join the Humanist Association of San Diego who will be having a sign-making meeting. We will march the parade route (please wear blue for consistency).
The parade entry is being organized by the Humanist Association of San Diego. The sign making party is to be announced. Please contact the Humanist Association of San Diego for more information at sdhumanist.org or send an email to [masked].
Later that evening HASD will discuss the contributions to humanist and American history by African American Freethinkers. Learn more.
FYI... It's relatively inexpensive to create a beautiful sign at Staples. They can reproduce your digital image on shiny matted poster board, 18 x 24 (the image is 12 x 18 with a 3" white border all around), for $10. (See the examples below.)
HFSD can also loan you banners to carry that represent the Humanist Fellowship and the San Diego Coalition of Reason.
If an active humanist community is important to you, please consider volunteering a bit of time to the Humanist Fellowship of San Diego. Contact Debbie, our board president, at [masked]. We are an all-volunteer effort hoping to make our bit of the world a little better.
