Recovering from Religion April Meetup

Come on out, unburden yourselves of your religious hang-ups, and laugh or cry over the stories our members tell. It's very cathartic, almost perversely enjoyable.

Our meetings tend to be small, so everyone has a chance to share or bring up any topic of personal interest. You never know who is going to show up, but whatever happens is always an enjoyable surprise.

Hope to see you there!

About Recovering from Religion

Leaving religion is full of potential problems, both emotional and practical. How will I tell my parents and extended family? How will this affect my marriage? How do I break the news to my religious friends and what if it disrupts the friendship? How to deal with child rearing issues? Who can I talk to about my feelings without being told, “You just need more faith.” (as if the problem is simply that not being gullible enough.)

Recovering from Religion talks about all these and more.

If getting out of religion is important to you, RR can help you navigate the new world of satisfied skepticism. Through local support groups, we offer the opportunity to explore the negative impact of religion in your life, without judgment. We can help you get connected to the many folks who, just like you, are embracing a life beyond faith.

Fantastic meeting. I am always so pleased to meet new friends, and hear personal stories about their personal journeys regarding belief/nonbelief. These meetings are more intimate than most discussion meetings, and I value the willingness of people to open up and share their experiences. We learn a lot from one another... !

Please note the new location at the Health Services Complex in Point Loma. We weren't able to reserve a room at the Mission Valley Library in April.
