Atheist Evangelist SAM SINGLETON coming to San Diego!

WARNING: This show contains irreligious and adult language. So yes, this is going to be a delicious performance.

Sam Singleton Atheist Evangelist is a satirical fictional character created by the American humorist and performance artist Roger Scott Jackson. Loosely based on Jackson's own experiences growing up in a Pentecostal family, "Brother Sam" is the protagonist of a continuing series of one-character theater pieces: Patriarchs and Penises, If the Ocean was Whiskey and God was a Duck, Revival, and Too Big for God.

Sam Singleton Atheist Evangelist tours extensively, playing venues large and small throughout the USA and Canada. Among other secularist events, he has performed at the Texas Freethought Convention, the American Atheist Convention, Rapture Day, Skepticon, and Imagine No Religion2.

"Revival" is a satiric enactment of an old time revival meeting like Brother Sam went to as a boy. It has music, testimonies, a sermon, all the things you'd expect, except God. And the audience takes part throughout. It is both fun and funny.

More than a thousand people attended the show's premiere last November. Since then it has toured the U.S. and Canada, along with Singleton's other one-man shows, "Patriarchs and Penises," "Too Big for God," and "If the Ocean was Whiskey and God was a Duck."

San Francisco blogger Greta Christina said, "(Revival) is a hoot and a holler . . . laced with serious ideas, wild humor, and invective that's like a razor blade dipped in venom."

This event is $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

Our (HASD) Joyce Beers center events are always potluck. Bring something to share if you like. Also remember to park in the underground level in order to maximize your time. The property management company has recently imposed a two hour limit in the aboveground-lot, and to avoid confusion or potential tow, please park in the underground level (entrances by the southwest corner of ralphs and north east corner of Trader Joes).

Does anyone know what parking is like at the center? I have been unable to find a phone #. Help please! :-)

there is a two-story parking lot,
the main area is above ground but the shops, but there are two entrances to the underground parking area by ralph's and trader joes. We recommend that everyone who is parking at Joyce Beers park in the underground portion in order to not be limited to the two hour maximum that they have placed on the above ground spaces. -Jason

Dan, that was the fastest RSVP I have EVER received. I do believe that was a record. Ha-ha! See you there. This is going to be good.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
