When I read the Humanist Manifesto III, I find myself agreeing, enthusiastically, with all the principles outlined. I'm interested in leading a good life, a meaningful life, an ethical life - guided by compassion for others. I feel so lucky to have been born... the odds against it are overwhelming when you think of all the successful pregnancies and births along the way that had to take place!
I first learned about "humanism" through the Humanist Jewish congregations. Then, I started seeing mention of events held by local humanist groups in San Diego - probably online. Then, I found the national organizations and started joining them all!
President of the Humanist Fellowship of San Diego, Director of San Diego Coalition of Reason, and board member of the American Humanist Association.
The Humanist Fellowship is devoted to providing education and community for humanists and those with a similar worldview. Friendly to everyone - atheists, religious, & spiritual seekers, etc. - they enjoy learning, and delight in a great discussion.
