Free Foreign Indie Film/Discussion! Commute Got You Hungry? Delish Meals on Site

Join us for the Foreign and Independent Library Movies (F.I.L.M.) Series: See a great foreign or independent film, meet new people, and join in the F.I.L.M. discussion (light refreshments provided free by the library.)

F.I.L.M. is on the second Friday of every month at the Hillsboro Main Library, usually preceeded by a short film at 5:45 and followed by an informal, optional discussion. (See schedule below.)

No need to postpone a satisfying dinner when the library has it's own snack bar serving freshly made sandwiches, salads, bagels, an array of delicious beverages and tasty donut treats!

With the library's new, later hours, we'll now stay on site for our post-viewing discussions; so, grab your food and bring it upstairs if you like!

2014 F.I.L.M. Schedule (more to come):

January 10: Shun Li and the Poet

February 14: The Deflowering of Eva Van End

March 14: Lucky

April 11: Three Worlds

May 9: Broken

June 13: La Sirga

July 11: Aliyah

August 8: Key of Life

Most movies in the Library's F.I.L.M. series are from the Film Movement catalog of independent, award-winning foreign films. Films are added to the Library's collection after the screening.

The F.I.L.M. Series is open to adults 18 and older. Movies are not previewed and may contain scenes or elements that are appropriate for mature audiences only.

For more information about F.I.L.M., please contact Reader Services at the Hillsboro Library, main branch.

(Note: Sue Marie is unable to continue as on-site event host due to a change in work schedule. Please welcome Gretchen or James in that capacity at this time.)

This is a joint activity with CFI Beaverton Atheists Meetup.

We hope to see you there -- invite a friend!

Excellent film, good discussion afterward, no technical problems, free snacks, even. Too bad that we couldn't see the related short film scheduled to play before. Thanks to everybody!
