Applying Humanism

The topic of the April 27th discussion is: "Are there 'natural rights' and, if so, what is their basis?"  Click here for a background article on natural rights from Wikipedia.   For more information on this meetup and an opportunity to make input before the discussion, go to the HGP web site under "Activities" (main menu bar) --> click on "Activities". Then click on the "click here" link for more information about "Applying Humanism". This takes you to the Applying Humanism page.  Click on "Preview and prep for next topic" to go to a spreadsheet where you can record your comments and questions related to the topic.

We not be projecting the spreadsheet this time. Instead, we'll project a more readable document that will be a record of inputs made during the meeting.

This topic is important because it is an underlying issue for several of the topics discussed to date, in particular, abortion rights and capital punishment. We may use this as a basis for a future discussion of "animal rights".
