Monday AM Walk @ Lloyd Center Mall, NE: Support Science & Reason on Your T-Shirt

Get Out of the Rain -- Walk the Mall & Support Science & Reason on your T-Shirt!

That's right, the Lloyd Center walk is back, this time on a weekday morning. We start from the food court on the top level of the mall -- near the elevator -- and do all three levels, with options to take the escalator, the elevator or the stairs.

Plan to meet a few minutes early so we can pair up and be ready to start the walk together at 9:00 am. After about 40-50 minutes of walking and talking, we'll meetup for something caffeinated and continue the conversation.

Members who can't make the walk are welcome to join us for the coffee hour back at the top level food court. Teens, and older children with adult supervision are welcome to the walk, as are babies in strollers.

Are you a Rabbit, Turtle, or Mollusk (those who must travel at a snail's pace)? We probably have someone in the group who can walk at your speed; if you are a Super-Humanist you may need to bring your own walking partner. The first quarter lap will be at a warm-up pace, then we'll wrap it up with a quarter lap at a cool-down pace.

Do you have a Darwin/humanism/freethought T-shirt? Remember to wear it so we can spread a little science and reason as we walk.

To get the Event Host's cell number in case you can't find us, email them from their member page before the activity by clicking on their icon.

All Meetup fees are paid by the Humanists of Greater Portland through your memberships; donations towards the work of HGP are greatly appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you -- bring a friend!

So I would like to go on this walk with y'all again but I've been waiting for the crowds to slow down. Is the mall open at 9am? Is there a lot less people at this time of day? If yes then I'd like to join y'all

I checked with the Lloyd Center and their official hours for shoppers have returned to 10:00, but there may be a store having a special sale. We walked last Monday and all the holiday crowds were gone.

Yes, mamaknitty, the mall is open at 9 AM - before that if you go to the right dooe. It's not crowded that early. It will be my first time back after a long absence. I hope you can make it.
