Portland, OR 97210HumanLight CelebrationJoin the fun of a holiday with no religious overtones!
Come join the revelry of the joint Humanists of Greater Portland/Center for Inquiry HumanLight Celebration on Saturday, December 18 upstairs at the Friendly House from 6pm to 9:30pm. This is a family friendly event, complete with a magician, Celtic musicians, group sing, children decorating a ?Tree of Knowledge? and of course, a potluck! Come dressed in your holiday finery, bring a dish to serve 8 people, and be prepared to have a rousing good time!
HumanLight illuminates Humanism's positive secular vision. In Western societies, late December is a season of good cheer and a time for gatherings of friends and families. Many events are observed. This tradition of celebrations, however, is grounded in supernatural religious beliefs that many people in modern society cannot accept. HumanLight presents an alternative reason to celebrate: a nontheistic vision of a good future. It is a future in which all people can identify with each other, behave with the highest moral standards, and work together toward a happy, just and peaceful world. Come celebrate HumanLight with HGP and our friends at CFI!
