How to Make a Vegan Diet Work, by Dixie Mahy

This is better than a clinical study. This is a real live person who has been vegan for decades. Our very own Dixie Mahy, president of the San Francisco Vegetarian Society, will be giving a most important presentation on her first-hand experience as a successful vegan. Dixie is about to turn 80. Yet she is in excellent health, is not on medication or pills, and has high energy and endurance--and is a great dancer as well.

How does she do it? And how can you do what Dixie has done? Do you want to maintain optimal health and activity when you hit the 80 mark? Find how what to do and not do, and how to make it really work for you, this coming Weds. Nov. 6 at 6 pm.

Dixie will also be sharing her talent as a dancer. Don't miss it!

Before Dixie's presentation, enjoy a fabulous vegan dinner planned by a certified Nutrition Consultant. Patricia Allen Koot, NE, NC, has developed an outstanding reputation for vegan dinners which are not only totally health-supporting, made without eggs, dairy, honey, oil or added sugar, but also are delicious. If you enjoyed her vegan red velvet cake this week, then you know what we are talking about.

The dinner is all you can eat. Bring a container and take some home with you.

And it is more than a yummy vegan dinner and a great presentation. Someone who came for the first time last night commented about the pleasant socializing and ambience which made it a very special event.

So come enjoy the evening. Fine vegan food, great entertainment and an informative presentation by someone with first-hand experience.

It all happens this coming Wed., Nov. 6 at 6 pm at the Opera Plaza Community Room, 601 Van Ness, San Francisco. Take the elevator to the first floor, then security will key you down to the mezzanine for the event.

A fifteen dollar requested donation covers the all you can eat vegan dinner plus Dixie's presentation. The nutritionist, and the presenter, are donating their time. Funds go toward facility rental, food, transport and other costs.

And reserve now for the vegan Thanksgiving banquet on Wed. Nov. 20 at 6 pm. This is an unforgettable holiday event featuring an incredible cornucopia of totally healthy vegan holiday dishes which are delicious, in the ambience of holiday decor and music.. Just ask those who enjoyed it last year!

We only have room for about 60 people, so reserve a place in advance. Call (88)[masked] or email to: [masked].
