What do you do? (,mua,hair,model,designer,etc.)

Digital Photographer, Retoucher, Graphic Designer, Web Designer, interested in expanding portfolio to build a bigger, brighter, more interesting website of my own. Also looking to improve photography skills as I am top-heavy leaning towards retouching to help balance my skill set out. I've been using DSLR cameras since the early 2000's as a hobbyist, but only just this year have decided to work more diligently to turn pro and eventually open my own portrait, wedding, commercial photog., events, and alternative/fashion model studio.

What is your skill level?

Depends on who you ask and depends on what you are asking about. I'd say that my Photoshop skills are very impressive as I have about 20 years experience dabbling with it. My photography skills on the other hand are indeed lacking. I have about 10 years of experience fiddling with DSLR cameras, but only have ever taken 1 Photography course and that was back in the mid '90s before DLSR trumped 35mm. I think I have a good eye for composition and know what is marketable and fit for sale, but I am still working through learning all the ins and outs of taking gorgeous photos using the equipment I have on hand. I'm anxious and eager to learn all I can though, and that's the important thing, right?

What kind of benefits are you looking to get from this group?

Saddling up next to fellow enthusiasts and photography professionals who would be willing to trade tips and secrets of the trade in exchange for my eternal appreciation. I don't believe in just taking, so I'm willing to help out in any way I can. This means running as a back-up photographer or assistant on photo-shoots, retouching photos, sharing a few of my own trade secrets, offering my graphic or web designing skills, or being your waterboy. lol

Would you be interested in helping organize shoots and workshops?

In a word, sure! After I just recently discovered that photographers toting professional "large-format" cameras, equipment, props, and models in tow through State/Public parks... a permit is usually required. So I'm all for collaborating and figuring out safe and legit locations (indoor & outdoor) for photographers, hair dressers, models, and make-up artists to gather.

Can you pat your head, rub your stomach and chew gum at the same time?

Uhh huh. And I can stand on my head and spit wood nickels and juggle too! ;)

Hi, I'm Chris. I'm a recent college grad w/ a BSIT & an AA Business. I also have a Graphic Design certificate. I used to work as a Movie Theater Projectionist for a while too. I love photography & am into photo-retouching & restoration.
