THE DETAILS:

The New Paltz Bike Swap (www.newpaltzbikeswap.com) is a fundraiser sponsored by the  Fats in the Cats Bicycle Club, a Hudson Valley-based not-for-profit group with the mission to promote cycling advocacy, trail building, trail maintenance and community service.  The group also lobbies for cycling legislation from New York State, county and local governments, working with policy makers to keep trails open for bikes and road safe for cyclists.  They also partner with land managers to build and maintain multi-use trails, including the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation; Scenic Hudson; the Winnakee Land Trust; and the Woodstock Land Conservancy.  The club is the primary sponsor (along with their sister group, the GUnks Mountain Biking Association) of the Minnewaska Mountain Bike Festival at Lake Minnewaska State Park held in May.  The club gives away dozens of bikes to needy kids in the Kingston, NY area each holiday season.

This is event's 6th year ... several hundred attendees and dozens of vendors are expected. This event is how the group generates funds to support cycling advocacy and trails in the Hudson Valley; the club gets 20% of items sold as a donation.
The group also accepts bike and biking-related items for the event -- contact Pete at [masked] to arrange pick-up.

Thanks for your help -- see you there!!!
