Very Challenging hike but well worth it. Was nice seeing the Hudson Highlands from the many different view points. Great group of hikers!! Thank you all for joining and congrats to the ones who completed all 6 peaks.

Amazing hike with great people. The view from Storm King of our "home course" was a great finale to the event. Great organization from Richard to keep us all together and safe. Can't wait to do this again.

Would anyone be able to help me out with a ride from NYC? I live in Williamsburg BK but can get anywhere in the city easily. Happy to contribute expenses for a car ride.

      Are you still going Leslie?

      May 9, 2014

  • Hunter

Anyone have any guidance on footwear? I have hiking boots, but I figure those will be a bit overkill for a day hike. I was going to go with trail runners instead.

    May 6, 2014

    • Amit

I am bringing trail runners, myself. Light and hard-soled will be the way to go, IMO.

      May 6, 2014

    • Amit

Actually, since we will be going back to the car between hikes; I'll probably use my LaSportiva approach shoes for the scrambles, and trail runners for the rest.

      May 9, 2014

  • Tonya

I am joining a hike on Sunday instead due to the uncertain forecast. I hope the weather works out for you!

    May 9, 2014

  • Jack S.

Anyone see the rain we're supposed to get? Is this going to be canceled?

    May 8, 2014

    • Amit

I, for one, am going rain or shine. I see widely different forecasts from different sites. We won't have a good idea till tomorrow afternoon what we'll actually be getting.

      May 8, 2014

  • rita c

Considering the second 1/2 of this shin dig . What time do you expect to start Ants nose ?

    May 5, 2014

    • rita c

      technically, I never joined .. :)

      May 7, 2014

    • Amit

Don't worry. Even though you never signed up, you are still Rita C. Bailer in my heart.

With the number of folks attending I hope we will be breaking up in sub groups with the a few of the more experienced folks watching over the less experienced or conditioned folks......I've never been to most of these places but want to push the pace and avoid the conga lines....is anyone familiar with all 6 hills ?

    May 7, 2014

  • Jack S.

If my friend is not going, I could use a ride. I live in Jersey City but can meet in NYC. Thanks,
    Jack

Why don't we add Popolopen Torne?

    2 · May 5, 2014

I'm game. The parking lot only holds maybe 5 cars though.

Richard ...is there a master plan with directions and suggested parking areas between these locations that you could post or forward in case group pace isn't quick enough?

    May 5, 2014

    • M. W.

I see it listed above and will have it with me entire hike .......I'd of course let you know I finished or when I bail (not likely). Are any of these hikes runnable ???? They all look like pretty steep ascents and descents.

      May 5, 2014

    • Richard

Not really a runner friendly hike but you could give it a try!

      May 5, 2014

Hudson Valley's answer to the SaranacLake 6 (ultra). Is this intended to be a race type event ?

    March 28, 2014

    • Richard

This is not setup to be a timed event but I kind of like the idea.
