The Schunemunk park has 25 miles of trails, last time we did this hike we managed to cover 18 miles ( with very little overlap). It is a loop, so no car shuffle is is necessary.
Length: 18 miles
Duration 11-12 hours
Meeting point: Parking lot south of the long path

Warning: This a strenuous, fast paced hike. It has several very steep ascends and descends. It is not recommended for beginners. Hiking poles are strongly recommended, there are several spots when they are very useful.
Headlamps or flashlights are mandatory. Please bring your own maps, there are several bailout points in case you can't finish the whole hike, but you need to have your own map with you !
Otherwise, it is a really nice hike with lots of views and great terrain features.
NOTE: You are responsible for bringing appropriate gear, supplies, clothing, first aid, and lights. You should review topographic maps and trail features carefully; understanding topography of any hike is key to your knowing where you are, where you're going, and how to get back. Cool thanks. I didnt see this one at REI. I will see if EMS has it.
I can't make this hike - but the other day I volunteered to be the trail maintainer for the section of the Jessup Trail beginning at the confluence with the Barton Swamp Trail and ending with its intersection with the Western Ridge Trail.
If you wouldn't mind telling me about any problems on that part of the trail - or any part for that matter - I would appreciate it.

As much as I would like to, unfortunetly I wont be joining you guys on this death march. I will be across the river on the Breackneck Ridge trails ((*_*))

If anyone wants to get some more hiking in, Woodbury Commons shopping center nearby has the following gear merchants: Under Armor, Columbia, NorthFace. Their Columbia store had great deals on jackets and shells when I was there.
