Mount Tremper, NY
Working on a small wordpress site for a politician, Louis Manzo and his book about Chris Christie. It works fine most everywhere but in the NYC metro area it seems to time out on several services providers. GoDaddy says the site is working fine and to contact the service providers. Not what I wanted to hear from them. My question is if these timeouts are occuring because the DNS numbers are somehow mixed up somewhere in the 'backbone' of the web, couldn't that be changed? Surely if we moved the hosting to another provider those numbers would change? Here's one of several trace routes by the way:

Please take this advise as coming from someone who knows very little about this; I'm just spit-balling here...
Perhaps those service providers are timing out simply because they must require tighter standards in that regard, and therefore are an indication that what you need to work on is getting your pages to load faster? Perhaps if you tried something like WP Super Cache, your pages would load faster and therefore avoid the timeout problem?
I'd also think about working on your videos page. With all of those videos embedded on a single page, that one seems especially prone to timing out, if I am not missing something. You could find a way to only call for the video after the user clicks on it...
Just a thought!
