Lets Make a Difference

Fellow Wine Lovers,

On Saturday, March 9th at 6:30pm we will be having a very special event, our second annual fundraiser! Not only will we be meeting to drink wine and enjoy friends, but we will also be raising money for a great cause, Chicago’s Ride for Aids put on by Test Positive Awareness Network (TPAN). All money raised will benefit TEAM TPAN!

This month we will enjoy South American Wines! Please join me for an evening of wine, catered food, a DJ, a raffle, a silent auction and more! Although the event is catered, please feel free to bring a snack and don’t forget to bring a bottle of Wine!

Although the event we have planned is coming together nicely, we need your help. Currently we are looking for:

  • Silent auction items. Some suggestions include: gift cards, hotel rooms, airline tickets, artwork, restaurant gift certificates, anything wine, etc.
  • Volunteers to work the event.
  • A DJ who would be willing to donate their time.
  • A Caterer who would be willing to cater the event at a discounted price.

If you have any items you would like to donate, would like to volunteer, or know a DJ/Caterer please contact me at [masked] or [masked]-7935.

This event will be held in a beautiful space at the Second Unitarian Church of Chicago (656 W. Barry Ave, Chicago). This church can accommodate more than half our group (300 people). The Church is accessible by train or car. Limited street parking is available. Coming by train? Get off at the Red/Brown/Purple Belmont stop and walk east to Clark. Take a right onto Clark and a left onto Barry. The entrance to the church is on the side of the building.

Over the last two years this group has grown into a great group of almost 550 wine lovers. I Like Red Wine is now at a size where we can truly make a difference in our community; therefore, we are trying something new by having two charitable fundraisers per year.

Unable to attend but still want to donate? Donate online at: www.rideforaids.org.

PS.  All donations are tax deductible!

I would like to bring some one with me and he lost his Id I was wondering does he have to bring an id or something? Since this event has to do a lot with wine

He can easily get a non driver state photo ID at Tompson Center at Lake and LaSalle. There's a couple of easy things you have to being to proove you're you and you live where you so and it coats like maybe $20 or something. It takes about an hour. I Like Red Wine might not card, but since there is alcohol, the venue always might.

Rosa, the Church doesn't not have the staff to ID. Your friend should be fine. Is someone is obviously under 21 it would be a big deal but your friend is not.

Hey there, getting closer to the day. Cannot wait to see so many of you all., for this event . This is one of the big events each year, and for a good cause. We all have many friends who need Tpan to help them out or even to get information. This will be as big or bigger than last year. So take the time to see your friends. The next events will be smaller so say hello get numbers ,hint hint before the big party is over. hope to see all of you there. Huggs and Kisses.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
