In 1997 I posted a picture of a turkey sandwich on my web site, and people asked why I did that. Now it's called food blogging. And people still ask why we do it. I'm always trying to learn more about food, whether cooking or just eating it.
I'm a software developer at a company in midtown Manhattan.
I'm not sure who's even left on that channel. Um.. before I stopped watching due to the ridiculous overproduction (gah, those obnoxious sound effects!), I was occasionally entertained by Mario and Alton's banter on Iron Chef America.
I love to cook but don't do it often enough to repeat many dishes. I was recently proud of my "faux-cassoulet". Beef shanks and short ribs from The Meat Hook braised with tomatoes and beans into a rich, hearty pot of goodness. I'll do that one again.
I live in Long Island so my NYC is mostly Midtown Lunch and some stops after work. With that caveat, however, Brooklyn in general would be at the top of my list for "freaking awesome". I also like Chinatown but without a guide I think I miss a lot.
My instinctive response is Japanese. I'm fairly convinced that Japan has taken food to a completely different level. But I'd be very unhappy with any one cuisine. My real favorite is variety. I want an all hors d'oeuvres restaurant.

I'll take that as a challenge...the
wings part, not the lover part...
Hi Christopher. Thanks for joining the LIMac Meetup group. Sorry you can't make the June meeting, but attending WWDC definitely has a MUCH higher priority. ;-) Have a great time in San Francisco. Hope to meet you at a future meeting.
