450 Ocean View Ave, Encinitas, CA
There's this place called The Monarch Program in Encinitas (north San Diego County)...Totally worth the drive. It's a butterfly vivarium, to me, much more exciting than the vivarium at the L.A. County Natural History Museum, because you can buy caterpillars and buy the plants they eat, and plant them, so that you have a little butterfly heaven in your backyard.
The guy who runs it is a professor at UCSD, I think, and is a grumpy genius, friendly upon occasion, but never hostile. :) He knows everything there is to know about butterflies, and I find him fascinating...and walking around the vivarium and having butterflies land on you...or picking them up delicately (you're allowed to) is simply sublime. I'd want to be a driver after I get to know a few more of you, so that you know you want to be in my car, and I know I want to be in your car. :)
