Re: [ia-55] UX & ROI (again)

I think that works when demonstrating ROI for UI in the product sphere, but what about software, mobile apps and web applications? I deal with a lot of clients that have enterprise-wide web application needs, and it seems like there are many that skip the UX step all together and move straight into design, and sometime directly into development.

I've been asked multiple times (usually via a 3rd party consulting agency) to show some demonstrable ROI for the UX piece of work. While the link below from the UPA has been incredibly helpful, they're simply a bit antiquated.

I was hoping to do some crowd-sourcing topic with others on this list to see how they demonstrate this to their clients, with more up-to-date information.

Not to be too cute, but if you're giving a presentation on it, I would use a stock chart and revenue graph for Apple since the introduction of the iPhone.  Money speaks.

Time to drag out that old "dead horse" topic of UX and ROI. My favorite research on this topic is about 10 years old now, and I'm refreshing some of my pitch materials. Can anyone else point me to some compelling data?
