I am trying to put together a report on website menu design.
I have seen a lot of changes in menu designs over the years and would like to see if there is a consensus on where things are heading and why.
I notice more sites are pointing their first level main navigation links to landing pages, as opposed to using a drop-down menu (sony.com
) or fat nav (nbc.com
) - an example of this is abc.com
Can anyone articulate the reason for this trend? Does tablet/mobile/responsive play a role?
