Shopping Carts - Ecommerce

Hello ia-55 Community;

I'm completing a website for a business client with a large product database to upload for ecommerce (shopping cart) integration.  There are many "shopping cart" package-options out there, and I was wondering if any of you have worked with an online shopping cart package that is easy to set up, great for end users ordering the products, and easy to maintain/upgrade  from the CMS end?

An opinion and/or story to share regarding Magenta, Agoracart (open source), or any other shopping cart package would be greatly appreciated!  To give you an idea of what I'm looking at in choosing a shopping cart package:

Can it handle a database of custom product categories?
Is is easy to set up, and upload the part numbers from a licensed disk?
Is it easy to manage, and tweak once it is set up?  (CMS)
Is it cost effective package?
Does the program provide an embeddable "Add to Cart" style button for each product item to be listed?

I greatly appreciate your input.
