A global software company is looking for a full-time staff usability specialist.

You will be responsible for designing and conducting user-centered design research and usability testing for the company's software products including:

o. Identification of user needs and goal
o. Task and workflow modeling
o. Rapid iterative usability testing and more in-depth validation and summative testing


o. Conduct rapid interactive usability testing of wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
o. Conduct usability testing with key metrics (e.g. task completion)
o. Translate research findings into design recommendations to quickly improve product designs early in design cycle
o. Perform validation usability testing to determine whether features and products have met objectives
o. Clarify research goals based on input from Product Management and User-Centered Design teams
o. Develop innovative strategies to answer research questions with limited resources
o. Design research protocols and prepare research plans
o. Plan user research activities such as participant recruiting and scheduling, materials production, lab preparation, and other logistics
o. Create research materials as necessary
o. Rapidly develop wireframes, interaction designs and process flows


o. Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in Human Computer Interaction (Required)

o. Highly enthusiastic change manager with research and development experience.

o. 4+ years experience in a user experience leadership role

o. Project management experience

o. Experience with a variety of usability methods: contextual inquiries, usability testing, card sorts, focus groups, personas, use cases, task analysis, survey design, and heuristic evaluations

o. Experience with wireframe production tools: Photoshop, Visio, HTML, Dreamweaver, JavaScript, Flash (Required)

o. Experience with Morae usability testing and market research software a plus

o. Experience working in agile development teams a plus

o. Interaction design skills, including the ability to create and document navigation structures and information design a major plus

o. Experience creating detailed screen wireframes to effectively communicate designs to product management, design, and development a major plus
