Tips for Writing Effective Website Copy

Web surfers have a short attention span.  Your copy has only 30 seconds to engage visitors before they move on. “Confuse or bore them and you’re toast,” says Tracy Needham, our April co-presenter.

During our April meeting, you will learn:
•    how and why writing Web copy differs from writing for print
•    how to write effective copy for the Web
•    how to use your website to attract new business.

Tracy is a copywriter and writing coach for entrepreneurs.  With more than 12 years of marketing writing and strategy, she knows how to write copy that gets a prospect’s attention, keeps it and compels them to take action.

Tracy knows that words can make or break a sale. “There’s both an art and science to crafting copy that gets RESULTS,“ she says.  “You have to know exactly what to say, when to say it and how to say it.”  You can learn more about Tracy at

In addition to Tracy, we are also delighted to welcome Kala Ambrose as a co-presenter.

Tracy Needham has triumphantly survived every challenge a copywriter will face. The insights & experiences she shared were very valuable to me.

Although I've followed Kala Ambrose's for years, I had no idea she was such a dynamic business woman & marketer. While she's certainly got the book-publishing / selling thing down to a science, her presentation last night would have benefited any business owner or marketing guru, regardless of industry. Thank you ICA for letting me see this Angel in a different "light."

There were actually two presentations: Writing Effective Website Copy, and Kala Ambrose. Liked both; gained knowledge from both. Would've liked to linger more over the nuts and bolts in the first presentation. Especially liked the business aspect of the second presentation.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
