Inventors & Entrepreneurs Club of Suffolk County Monthly Meeting

Attention Suffolk County Inventors and Entrepreneurs:

Kicking off a new year of innovation and entrepreneurship, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced that the Suffolk County Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club will welcome Newsday business writer James T. Madore to speak about the best way to tell a business or invention story to the media.

James T. Madore writes about the regional economy and economic development for Newsday. Before returning to Newsday’s Business department in 2011, Madore served as the Albany Bureau Chief for four years. His coverage earned top honors twice from the New York News Publishers’ Association, the 2008 excellence award from the Legislative Correspondents Association and an award from the New York State Associated Press Association.

"Suffolk County produces an impressive community of inventors, patent holders and entrepreneurs who are creating new products and businesses," said County Executive Bellone. "The Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club strives to provide Suffolk County inventors with the tools they need at every stage of the process and an important part of that process is marketing and promotion."

Club President Brian Fried said, "Launching your ideas and getting them noticed is an important part of your marketing initiatives. Our group will benefit from our speaker’s experience and hear tips on how to get the word out through the media for their inventions and new businesses."

The Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 21 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. in the Media Room of the H. Lee Dennison Building 100 Veterans Highway, Hauppauge 11788. (Use the EAST Entrance to the building.)

Five hundred and thirty people attended the Suffolk County Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club in 20133 and the program continues to grow. Nearly half of those who came to a meeting in 2013 were first time attendees. Each month there is a keynote speaker and an opportunity for everyone to introduce themselves and their inventions, as well as an opportunity to network.

There is no charge and no registration is required to attend the meetings, though a valid ID is needed at the door.
