The following message is from Dave Gilbert, the organizer for the IGDA Drink Nights.
It?s that time again. Mark your calendars for the next IGDA drink night!
The NYC IGDA drink night is an informal get-together for game industry folks of all stripes. Whether you have been in the biz for years, or just looking to get involved, everyone is welcome! There is no agenda or schedule ? just come, have a drink or two, and chat with like-minded developers.
Best of all, the first round of drinks will be picked up by the NYC IGDA chapter!
Here are the details:
Place: No Idea Bar (www.noideabar.com) (30 E. 20th street between Broadway and Park) Date: Tuesday, July 14th Time: 7pm
We will be gathering in the back room. If you are new, just look for me (Dave). I?ll be the guy wearing the ?Wadjet Eye Games? cap.

Scheduled for every fourth Tuesday of the month from 7 pm to 8 pm, this Meetup focuses on discussions regarding the artistic and technical work that goes into game development as well as the business aspect of creating games and running a game company. The format is usually a presentation by guest speakers followed by a round-table discussion on a specific topic, where all attendees are encouraged to contribute. To facilitate this close and informal exchange of ideas, we usually keep the size of the group small, so be sure to RSVP.
The discussions are followed by drinks at a local bar for networking and socializing.
This Meetup complements the larger IGDA (International Game Developers Association) events. For more information on the IGDA, please visit the NYC chapter page at http://www.igda.org/nyc
