Ignite has a lot of potential. I?d give a 7 out of 10 for an opening act. I was impressed at the diversity of the presentations. Love the 15 sec per slide format. Great venue. Vibe of the crowd was engaging. Purpose and Passion what a beautiful thing. A little more polish and this will be a killer event

Suggest you put a big timer clock on the stage so speaker knows their time limits. And let the speaker tell the slide handler when to advance to the next slide. This would GREATLY improve the speakers ability to pace their own talk and not be rushed by someone else's 15 second rule. Some speakers had no cred in the areas they discussed. Too many blatant commercials. Perhaps some bounds on entries if this is done again. No criticism of organizers; was good to see a lot of friends, but about half were worth watching.

Perhaps I had the wrong impression of what Ignite was about, but I was expecting a lot less suit and way more geek. Sorely disappointed.

Didnt know what to expect but learned a lot! Fun event

Too many blatant commercials. Some speakers known to me gave quite disingenuous presentations. Be happy to talk to you about this offline. Wasn't nearly as interesting as I expected it to be. No criticism of organizers, but I could have spent my evening much more productively.

Great event and thanks to Colin for getting something started! I look forward to the next time around, but I don't think I like BackNoise.

Great presentations, great format. can't wait to do it again.

Great improve - Fun / different.

Fascinating, great experience for the students, interesting topics (would love a printed list for note taking and jogging my memory the next day when telling people about it.) Not sure what I expected, it was a bit salon meets start-up forum laced with the taste of performance art. It also reminded me somewhat of the Edinburgh Fringe festival for science geeks: awesome entertaining mental diversions. Too tired after working in the hospital all day to socialize afterwards, but I'll definitely attend the next one and sign up early enough to bring my husband.

It was a great night. Entertaining, educational and inspiring. Thanks for putting it together.

Thought it was a great program and loved all the presenters. Felt bad for Tessa though as I think she made the worst sales pitch I have ever experienced in my 20 years in Sales & Marketing. But otherwise think all the presentations were great. And the divergent and obscure nature of some of the topics. Using liquid helium to cool a computer for over clocking purposes to Sand Swimming lizards studied by Physicists to Art appreciation thingy. Was really a mind warp, think I need a Monday Night Beer.

Great startup. Lots of fun. Got to meet lots of folks. Suggest you invite the middle age crowd of Entrepreneurs. Was a little lopsided on the young college age. Suggest you get some more heavy hitter presentors with mainstream topics. of course, the youngsters presenting DID do a great job and I'm sure learned more from the experience than almost any other way.

I know it's rough to create a good 5 minute talk, but we need better speakers next time. Or - radical suggestion - allow speakers to have fewer slides. I think that have auto advancing slides that went every 15 seconds really messed most people up. If they had just 5 slides - 5 minutes - I think many people would have done better talks - they would have reduced the number of points they tried to fit in. In other words, I think the 5 minutes is more important than the 20 slides.

Good group and great job by Colin getting everything put together. Enjoyed the format even if I didn't enjoy all of the presentations. My favorite was the Beer and Monday deck followed closely by the ATDC decks including Scott Burkett's

The idea is great, many of the presentations went pretty well. My only complaints might be the issues transitioning between speakers and the occasional lack of flow. I think that I might like the idea of fewer slides, and more time per slide. I met some interesting people here as well.
  • Greg Tyree
Not bad for the first ignite here in Atlanta. The presentations were diverse and some quite engaging. I look forward to more of these.
  • Colleen Jones
Great mix of people speaking. Topics pretty tech focused. Some speakers were excellent and some seemed not as prepared. Very promising overall as an excellent event for Atlanta.
  • melissa
Interesting speakers and topics! Which there had been a little more diverse topics BUT well done for a first time!!!
  • Jeremy Brown
I didn't, and skill kinda don't, know whether Ignite was supposed to be about technology/social media or about anything someone wanted to present about. If it was the latter I'm going to kick myself for not presenting myself. And the random slide competition was awesome, that should definitely be kept.
  • stacey helenbrook
I thought it was an interesting, but seemed to be a little Ga Tech-heavy.
  • Devon
Good lineup of topics. Aside from very minor technical difficulties and the few interspersed mention of profanity, it was a good event.
  • Susan Sims
FABULOUS!! What an exhilarating event to be part of! Colin was a great MC, the volunteers were unobtrusively efficient, and the speakers showed the variety and depth of the Atlanta human community! The talks ranged from entertainingly funny, through personally meaningful and specifically informative. They included opinions, ideas, and information that enriched and enlarged my life.
  • Jenny Bloom
Great event and I realize it was the first one but would like future meetings to start on time.
  • Bennie Farmer
I enjoyed it. There was a wide range of topics presented, with something in every one I found interesting.
