I'm interested in the ecology and evolution of every kind of mushrooms, including edible, medicinal, poisonous, wood-rotters, disease agents and compounds that are important from an ethnobotanical perspective.
I began attending IMA forays and meetings in the 90s, when they were still hosted at the Field Museum, but now the meetings usually meet at the Northpark Nature Center on Pulaski, just South of Peterson Avenue (14).
When I was a little girl, my great-grandfather would say, "when the oak leaf is the size of a mouse's ear, it's time to look for morels." I'm a journalist and urban wildlife manager with a strong interest in social justice and the environment.
