Making the transition (from Hobby to Pro) a workshop with Jeffrey Holmes

The amazing Jeffrey Holmes has done it all: fashion, wedding, corporate and he's bringing his expertise to In Focus Photography. With a career spanning 10 years, Jeffrey took his career from hobby to full time job and will cover the nuts and bolts of the moves you need to make now, to transition from hobby to pro.

Seminar Time:
1pm-3pm

About the Seminar:

Jeffrey will begin the session with discussing his experience in the industry and how he has helped coached other photographers to follow their passion. Previous students have had works published in National Geographic as a result of his advice.

Topics this workshop will cover:

·     Is there money to be made in your area of interest?
·         What rates should you charge?
·         Does your website accurately reflect your work?
·         Is your portfolio helping you “sell” your work?
·         How to start marketing your new business?
·         When to quit your day job? Should you quit your day job?

The second half of the seminar will be focused on Jeffrey answering your questions. He will also take a look at websites/ web portfolios of select members. Bring your business card, bring your questions, and get ready to work! Note: if you have a website you want reviewed, you may provide the link in the comments for this event listing. The more he knows about your work the better he can advise.

Workshop Fee: $35 by Sunday, July 15th; $50 after July 15th

Class size will be limited to increase maximum attention to participants.

Sal, I'm sorry to hear that you had trouble getting in. I personally stopped by the 36th st. location at Noon, and confirmed with the Lobby attendant that she would be there all day, even though the left door was unlocked. According to Jeffrey you were the only registrant who didn't check in, so thankfully, difficulty getting in wasn't a wide spread problem. I will email you directly to discuss what can be done for your personal situation. In the future we'll also send out an emergency contact #

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
