Manchester Community College's International Film Series for Spring 2014 contains films from the USA, Denmark, Lebanon, and Italy. There will be an optional brief discussion, along with a potluck dessert, after each film.
The Attack (Lebanon) tells about Dr. Amin Jaafari, an assimilated Arab surgeon who seems to have it all with a promising career with honors among the Israelis in Tel Aviv. That all changes after a devastating terrorist suicide bombing and his beloved wife, Siham, is found among the dead as the primary suspect. The now ostracized Amin resolves to find out on his own why Siham had so strong a conviction that she kept secret from him. However, the answers prove hard to come by and the truths involved have a terrible pain of their own. 102 mins. Drama. Arabic/Hebrew. Rated R.
