What we’re about
Welcome to Beyond the Multiplex, one of Connecticut's oldest and largest Meetups!
We focus on seeing independent, foreign, classic, and otherwise not-exactly-blockbuster films. We also sometimes see bigger movies but in non-traditional locations, like outdoor showings in Cedar Hill Cemetery or in the area's many beautiful parks.
In addition to primarily supporting independent cinemas like Trinity College's Cinestudio, the Wadsworth's Aetna Theatre, Real Art Ways, and Wesleyan University's Goldsmith Family Cinema, we also see international and indie movies at places like Cinemark Buckland Hills in Manchester, Cinépolis West Hartford, and Apple Cinemas in Hartford's Front Street District.
