I don't think there are any countries whose movies I don't generally care for. It's more of a case by case basis.
A few days ago I saw Handsome Harry at Cinestudio and really enjoyed it. Last week I watched a Norwegian movie on DVD, Troubled Water, and really liked it. Enjoyed was probably not the right word but it was very moving.
I've seen some very good movies from Mexico and South America in the last several years. France, Germany and China are often good. It's also interesting to see movies from countries that I know less well (like the Norwegian one I mentioned above).
There are SO many but off the top of my head... I LOVE Jeux Inerdits (Forbidden Games), You Can Count on Me, Brokeback Mountain, Memento, Mysterious Skin, The Good Girl, Salaam Bombay, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Eternal Sunshine...., 7-up Series, Amadeus
Hi, I love foreign and independent movies and it would be great to see them with other people who appreciate them, too.
