There are two free summer movies series that might be of interest to our members. Since we already have a lot of movies posted, these are not going to be Meetups unless members express an interest in seeing them. Just suggest one as a Meetup or contact the Organizers and ask that it be scheduled. Of course, you can just go on your own or with friends, no need for a Meetup to enjoy these movies.

The them of their Summer Classic Movie Night this year is "A Tribute to Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton", with movies featuring one or both of these stars every Tuesday night at 7:00pm:
June 26th - Look Back in Anger starring Richard Burton and Claire Bloom.
July 3rd - Ivanhoe starring Elizabeth Taylor, Robert Taylor and Joan Fontaine.
July 10th - Desert Rats starring Richard Burton and James Mason.
July 17th - Butterfield 8 starring Elizabeth Taylor and Laurence Harvey.
July 24th - Courage of Lassie starring Elizabeth Taylor and Frank Morgan.
July 31st - The Spy Who Came in from the Cold starring Richard Burton and Claire Bloom.
August 7th - Cat on a Hot Tin Roof starring Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman.
August 14th - Father of the Bride starring Elizabeth Taylor and Spencer Tracy.
August 21st - The Taming of the Shrew starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

Their International Movie Series shows a movie on Monday night at 7:00pm. Scheduled lineup:
June 25th - "The Piano Factory" (China) When Chen's estranged wife reappears asking for a divorce and custody of their daughter, the musician girl decides she will live with whoever can provide her with a piano. Chen's struggle begins.
July 2nd - "The Protektor" (Czech Republic) - A Czech journalist joins a Prague radio station what broadcasts Nazi propaganda in order to protect his Jewish wife. However, as the Nazi rule over Czechoslovakia calls for more and more collaboration, his relationship with his wife spirals downward.
July 9th - "Karen Cries on the Bus" (Colombia) - Karen discovers, after 10 years of marriage, she has left behind her dreams devoting herself to home chores and realizes it has been a mistake that cost her her youth. She decides then to separate and go in search of a life of its own. With her savings she rents a room in the center of Bogota and tries to get a job, but her age and inexperience makes it difficult. Karen will have to decide between returning to the stability of a relationship or facing life for herself.
July 16th - "Vasermil" (Israel) - The film is named after the local football stadium located in the town of Be'er Sheva in southern Israel. Vasermil tells the story of three teenagers who live in the same tough neighborhood, growing up in an unforgiving environment, pinning their hopes on football as a way out.
July 23rd - "Little Sparrows" (Australia) - In the middle of an Australian summer, we meet three sisters; Nina, a widow, Anna, an aspiring actress, and Christine, a med student. Simple and sincere, celebrating life and the unconditional love of a mother.
July 30th - "Before Your Eyes" - (Turkey) Diyarbakir, in the late nineties: Two young Kurdish children are forced to live on the street after their parents have been murdered by a member of a secret state security force.
August 6th - "Queen of Hearts" (France) - Thirty-something Adele is devastated after a painful breakup. With no close friends or family, her distant cousin, Rachel, reluctantly takes her in and graciously attempts to salvage Adele's personal and professional lives.
August 13th - "King of Devil's Island" - (Norway) This true story of the infamous Bostoy Reform School in Norway begins with the arrival of seventeen-year-old Erling, a rumored murderer. He immediately clashes with the island facility's governor, who believes manual labor, rigid discipline, and harsh punishment are the only methods that can turn the boys into honorable members of society. Refusing to accept the constant abuse, Erling slowly rouses the rest of the boys out of their resigned existence, and encourages them to fight to lift up their spirits.
August 20th - "Amador" - (Spain) Marcela, a young immigrant with financial troubles, finds a summer job looking after Amador, a bed-ridden elderly man whose family is away. She thinks her problems are solved, but Amador dies shortly therafter, putting Marcela in a predicament. His death leaves her jobless, something she can't afford to let happen. Faced with a difficult moral dilemma, Marcela will prove that death can't always stop life.
