The Master

A Naval veteran arrives home from war unsettled and uncertain of his future - until he is tantalized by The Cause and its charismatic leader.

A simple description is all that you need to get a sense of our next movie outing. That and the picture above hark back to the dawn of the post-war self help movements of Scientology, EST and the Objectivist cult of Ayn Rand.

The previews and reviews I've seen so far are very promising for both the story and the performances of Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix and Phillip Hoffman.

The movie starts at4:45, I'll be in the lobby at 4:30. If you are not familiar with the location of Landmark's Greenwood Village theater please look it up on Google Maps. It is NOT the theater on Arapahoe Road!

Afterwards well walk to one of the restaurants in the mall.

I look forward to seeing you there,

Interesting. The acting was very good. The plot stirred both questions and emotions. A bit heavy. Certainly not a "feel good" movie, but worth seeing.

A beautifully filmed movie with great acting, and at the same time an enigma of a plot. Varying interpretations by the group added to my sense that it's meaning and story were vague as best.
Nice to have so many new faces and a good discussion! Glad to have found a reasonably priced restaurant in the Landmark shopping center.

Looking forward to seeing this film. Joaquin's return from his hiatus as a recluse. I've heard good things.

Hi Karen, I expect this to be a film that raises question. Just so we're clear, the $1 is a fee to keep the group running. We all still buy our own tickets to the movie.
