Hello! My name is Sue and I love independent films and documentaries, but I'm tired of getting them from the library and watching them alone. This group sounds great!
I can't limit it to one....it depends so much on what I'm in the mood for. My Neighbor Totoro is probably my top pick because of the beautiful animation, the wonderful story that is wise, gentle and funny, and the amazing creativity involved. But then how can I leave out Blazing Saddles , which in its own way was groundbreaking? In the current "politically correct" climate, its blatant racism is still shocking--it is a wonderful satire and also delightfully lampoons the wild wild West films of the past.

I would say my favorite actor is Toni Collette. She brings so much to every role (including the right accents) and even small roles become special when she plays them. The first movie I saw her in was Muriel's Wedding, a little Australian movie no one saw but it was hilarious/sad/amazing. She has never failed to amaze since.
This was my first time at this meet up, and I really enjoyed myself. The organizers were friendly and they made sure everyone knew where the restaurant was. The restaurant itself was prepared for our group, and handled adding an extra table and separate checks for 30 people like pros. It was great fun meeting everyone at my table and I look forward to the next movie meet up!
