Announcing a new Meetup for Indie Film, Dinner, & Discussion Group!

What: Never Let Me Go - Esquire

When: Saturday, October 2,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Esquire Theatre
590 Downing Street
Denver, CO 80217

Film Fans -

We off to see the haunting, Never Let Me Go, based on the novel by Kazuo Ishiguro (Time Magazine's best novel of the year). This film has gotten lots of buzz, has a strong cast, and should generate lots of post viewing discussion.

Eat dinner before the film! We'll meet 6:30pm in the lobby, film starts at 7pm. Afterward we'll head out for coffee, dessert, lite snack, or a drink and discussion. We'll have another event this month where we have a formal sit down dinner. (I am trying to offer events at different price points per the request of many members)

In his highly acclaimed novel Never Let Me Go, Kazuo Ishiguro (author of the novel The Remains of the Day) created a remarkable story of love, loss and hidden truths. In it he posed the fundamental question: What makes us human? Now director Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo) brings Ishiguro's hauntingly poignant and emotional story to the screen. Kathy (Carey Mulligan, An Education), Tommy (Andrew Garfield, Boy A, Red Riding) and Ruth (Keira Knightley) live in a world and a time that feel familiar to us, but are not quite like anything we know. They spend their childhood at Hailsham, a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. When they leave the shelter of the school and the terrible truth of their fate is revealed to them, they must also confront the deep feelings of love, jealousy and betrayal that threaten to pull them apart.

Denver Post Review:

New members - look for me in the lobby holding a Meetup sign!

I do ask for a $1 donation per person at the event to help cover my organizer fees - thanks!

See you at the movie!
